The Goodness of God

Jonah 1:17–2:10 reveals that God’s goodness outshines the darkness of sin and reaches us even in the deepest places of distress. Jonah’s flight from God led him into the sea, but God used even the belly of the great fish as a place of mercy, repentance, and rescue.

Main point: God is good, and His goodness is greater than our circumstances and our sin.

Application: When life is hard - or when we have gone astray - we can trust God’s goodness, turn back to Him in prayer, and testify to His faithfulness so others may know Him too.
